We are committed to creating positive swimming experiences for everyone in our sport. One major component of facilitating positive experiences to provide quality competitions across the country. Swimming NZ conducted a Competition Review (2024) that outlined the competition pathway and calendar structure for swimming competitions to follow.

Competition Review
Across late 2023 and early 2024, a Working Group consisting 16 stakeholders from the swimming community conducted a thorough review of competitions across New Zealand. The process included opportunities for the community to provide feedback, before making their final recommendations. There were 9 final recommendations which were endorsed by the Swimming NZ board, with the final recommendations now the guiding document for setting the competition pathway and calendar structure for all levels of competition around Aotearoa.
