Announcement of Key Information for 2025 SNZ Competitions

We are excited to release the key information for all of our national championships, plus one of our other major competitions, being held in 2025.

The information shared today includes the information book, qualifying times (where applicable), event schedules and TM eligibility files (where applicable) for the following competitions:

  • 2025 Apollo Projects NZ Open Water Swimming Championships

  • 2025 Apollo Projects Division II Swimming Competitions

  • 2025 Apollo Projects NZ Age Group Swimming Championships

  • 2025 Apollo Projects NZ Swimming Championships

  • 2025 NZ Secondary School Swimming Championships

  • 2025 NZ Short Course Swimming Championships

We are currently working through the final details of the key information for the Apollo Projects Junior Festivals, as we liaise further with the host regions. This information will be shared in the coming weeks. You can find the full pool calendar below, which features the dates and venue for each festival.

Likewise, we are finalising the information book for the Secondary School Open Water Championships held within the Banana Boat NZ Ocean Swim Series this summer. This will be released shortly. In the meantime, you can view the full open water calendar below, featuring dates and locations.

Swimming NZ's Competitions Manager, Kate Griffiths, is looking forward to hosting each of these championships and competitions in the new year.

"We can't wait to host our members at each of the respective competitions in 2025. With the updates to the calendar following the Competition Review, we have a good spread across the year and are preparing to provide the best possible experience for the swimmers."

Swimming NZ's Head of Participation, Competitions & Engagement, Dale Johnson, is grateful to those who have supported the development of this information.

"A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to confirm this information. A big thank you to Peter Burgon in particular for his data analysis and support in calculating the qualifying times, and to the Events Advisory Committee for their feedback along the way."

Johnson also acknowledged this update as another milestone since the Competition Review announced earlier this year.

"It's another big step in bringing the recommendations from the Competition Review to life. With the release of the key information today, we have completed the preparation for rolling out recommendations two and seven. Thank you again to the Working Group who have continued to help us finalise the finer details."

Swimming NZ's Chief Executive, Steve Johns, took the opportunity to thank our partners for their continued support of swimming.

"We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of our Principal Partner Apollo Projects that enables us to host our calendar of competitions. Thank you also to our other corporate and competition partners who contribute to the delivery of swimming in New Zealand."
